NOTICE: Feb 10 AOTY Outing - Location Change

Post by Last Dime » Wed Jan 31, 2018 2:25 pm

Due to unstable ice conditions on the Saginaw River, the Feb. 10 Walleye Outing has been relocated to Bay City State Park on State Park Road. Everyone should meet at the Pavilion at 6:30 am. Be on the ice by 7:00 am to start fishing. We will fish until 1:00 pm. The weigh-in will be at the Pavilion at 2:00pm with lunch served. The schedule on the AOTY Outing page has also been updated. For more info, call Blaise Pewinski (248) 890-4517

I also found this image taken today. I don't know if it means anything but I thought it looked interesting. The huge crack is about 7 miles out from the park.

Looks like the river is locked up again. Pictures from the 2nd and 3rd.

The crack close to shore moves every day, shouldn't be an issue. I carry ramps for that.
The river does look very flushable, I will talk to Bob and Adam if they want to open the river for the outting. If they agree registration could be done by phone but weigh in will still be a state park .. give me a call Adam and Bob or anybody with input.

After talking to the committee we decided to open the river to DAS anglers that don't have access to 4 wheelers or snow machines. This could be a good alternate location if its blowing hard or white out conditions on bay. For those fishing the river
please call or txt me by 7 am. To enter the event. Bay fisherman will meet at the pavilion between 630 to 645am . The park is very busy on Saturdays get there early to get a spot to park. If you can park next to a club member so you don't get blocked in by someone you don't know. The pavilion is to the right when you enter the park. Please call me on Thursday evening to let me know your coming. 248 890 4517

This link is to a map of the area. I found it useful since I am a rookie.
