Lake Superior State University Foundation
Members of the Detroit Area Steelheaders (DAS) came to LSSU's Aquatic Research Lab recently to assist LSSU students in marking our Atlantic Salmon Smolts (yearlings) prior to their release into the St. Mary's River this June. #atlanticsalmon

The heavy lifting didn't take place until the following day when reinforcements arrived!
Next year we'd like to get a couple more volunteers to help out. Along with the students, we managed to clip fins on about 15,000 Atlantic smolts over two days. This is definitely a worthwhile experience, and our assistance was greatly appreciated by Roger Griel and the school.
